Aluminium Structural Design
By Mazzolani, Frederico M. (Ed.)

The subject of the book is the design of aluminium alloys structures. The subject is treated from different points of view, like technology, theory, codification and applications. Aluminium alloys are successfully employed in the transportation industry; A parallel trend has been observed in the last decades in civil engineering structures, where aluminium alloys compete with steel (long-span roofing, bridges, hydraulic structures, offshore superstructures). This volume collects the lectures of out-standing international experts, who are all involved in the codification activity of Eurocode 9 on Aluminium Structural Design. It illustrates, with particular reference to the fields of transportation and civil engineering, the basic design principles from the material properties and the technological aspects of their application, to the evaluation of the resistance of the structural elements (member and plates) under static, dynamic and fatigue loading conditions.

Cast and Wrought Aluminium Bronzes: Properties, Processes and Structure
by Harry J. Meigh

In particular, the book contains much valuable new material on the metallurgy of aluminium bronzes and the composition and manufacturing conditions required to ensure reliable corrosion resistance.

It contains chapters on alloying elements, physical properties, casting processes and the properties of castings, the manufacture and design of castings, wrought aluminium bronzes, heat treatment, welding, corrosion, wear resistance, microstructure of binary alloys, ternary alloys, the Cu-Al-Ni-Fe system and the Cu-Mg-Al-Ni-Fe system. It also contains a historical introduction and a number of useful appendices.

It will prove invaluable for designers, engineering consultants, metallurgists, architects, civil engineers and all those who are responsible for the selection of materials, as well as the manufacturers of these alloys. ISO-CEN and American standards are referred to.

Advances in Steel and Aluminium Structures
by Lau Hieng Ho

This book contains the eighty nine papers, including six keynote papers, presented at the 7th International Conference on Steel and Aluminium Structures (ICSAS 2011) held on 13–15 July 2011 in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. The previous six conferences were held in Oxford, UK in 2007; Sydney, Australia in 2003; Epoo, Finland in 1999; Istanbul, Turkey in 1995; Singapore in 1991; and Cardiff, UK in 1987.

It is hoped that this edited book remains the dissemination and discovery of recent advances in steel and aluminium structures for researchers and designers. The conference brings together international experts from six continents and attracted contributions that came from 20 countries across the world, covering a wide spectrum of topics including the current state of the art, and future directions of research in steel, composite and aluminium structures as well as anticipating the sustainable development of these areas. The six keynote papers cover areas of great interest and encompass the conference themes. They include contributions on current research in steel design, composite design and stainless steel.

Aluminium Alloys - New Trends in Fabrication and Applications
Leroy Sidney

This book entitled Aluminium Alloys - New Trends in Fabrication and Applications, emphasizes on future innovations and new developments in aluminium alloys. Aluminium is the worlds most abundant metal and is the third most common element, comprising 8% of the earths crust. The versatility of aluminium makes it the most widely used metal after steel. Although aluminium compounds have been used for thousands of years, aluminium metal was first produced around 170 years ago. Aluminium alloys have undergone a dramatic transformation in areas of extrusion, machining, welding, heat treatment, structural changes, created by ultra fine particles and enhanced corrosion resistance. Hence, these alloys have made rapid gains in automotive and space industry. Aluminium alloys are alloys in which aluminium (Al) is the predominant metal. The typical alloying elements are copper, magnesium, manganese, silicon, tin and zinc.
